I'm Insane

I've decided I am insane. No, the voices in my head didn't tell me. I figured it out all on my own.

I'm insane because tomorrow I am flying with my one-year old. That's right, I will be trapped on a plane with my daughter and whatever snacks I bring along (good luck getting an extra bag of peanuts from the airline). And I paid money to have the experience!

I'm also insane because I decided to write a novel over a year ago. And it has stayed with me. The novel haunts me during meetings, in the shower, and just before I fall asleep. The characters act out in my mind, creating their world and beliefs and values. They develop into people I hate and love. And I also love the process of creating them.

What about writing your novel has been haunting you lately?

Revisions on my first ms are haunting me. My dad is an editor and my ms is in his hands. I have gotten the first 5 chapters back and it is going to be tough. Of course, I've got new ideas running through my head and have been fleshing them out, but the first ms is still in the back of my mind, taunting me a bit. :)

I love your post. I love how your passion for writing jumps off the screen. For me, my edits are turning my brain inside out.

Oh my goodness! I wish you the best of luck on your flight. I think the flight attendants usually give women with small cute children more attention... and peanuts. :)

We traveled with my oldest daughter when she was 13 months and she did great. We just had to remember to bring her snacks and toys to play with.

My manuscript is haunting me and I haven't even written it yet. This new one I'm planning just keeps jumping into my mind, particularly images of where the hero and heroine meet, in a field of dandelions. I can't wait to start it but I have to wait until November (for NaNo).

*hugs* I'm not brave enough to go flying with the tots yet. :) Good luck on your flight. And yay for your novel not leaving you alone. :D Keep up the good work. :D

We've been flying with my son since he was six weeks old. Just remember, EVERYONE says they would rather sit next to a screaming kid than a smelly drunk guy. So just...don't get drunk, you'll be fine. ;)

Not lately. I started a new one, but my new characters arent haunting me as obsessively as my other story. I'm hoping with Halloween coming up, they'll haunt me with full force soon.

Good luck on the plane!

Yes, you are insane. Not from the novel but from making the trip with a year-old baby. Take a bottle for the ups and downs with the ears! Actually, I was more insane. I traveled with three under the age of four! It worked out, though.
