Happy Birthday, Illusions!

Happy birthday, Illusions!

Well, it isn't technically Illusions birthday. But it is the last save date on the first, first, first version of the prologue (which no longer exists in any form).

I look back and am amazed at what a transformation Illusions has gone through. I am so very grateful I didn't have a clue about the whole publishing process when I first sat down at the keyboard.

To celebrate, I'm giving away a present!

Just comment on this post telling me what made you start to write. You'll be entered you into a drawing for a $10 Target gift card.
Winner will be announced on 8/10/09.

Awesome! That's cool that you have somewhat of a date. I'm pretty clueless about the dates on my books. I should keep track of my babies!

What made me want to start to write? That was over 18 years ago... I can't remember! But it was probably all the books I read. I just wanted to write something that wasn't already out there!

Oops, hit publish too soon.

Why did I start writing? Erm...well...I always wanted to. I remember writing stories and "publishing" them for my elementary friends and doing "readings" on the bus ride to school!

CONGRATS!! i guess what started me out writing was my job. i ran across some incredibly insane people and thought, "people have got to read about them at some point!" so i started writing. :)

Illusions has a great b-day. :)
Legend's is on the 8th. The day I started writing again.
I hadn't written anything in years, but started 3 days after my 35th birthday. :)
So August is a good month for books taking form.

And not only am I wishing Illusions a happy b-day, but I'm saying, thanks for writing it.
(And no Target anywhere near here, so don't count me in that. Just wanted to send my <3.)

Congratulations! That's a nifty idea. So, Happy Birthday, Illusions!

Well, see, it started with this girl. She was staring in the mirror, horrified. I wondered why. Then I stepped back and looked at the situation a little more closely. All was then made clear. Her reflection was human, but her body was most definitely more along the lines of bird.

I've written nearly all my life, but that moment, when the character broke through the wall, all of the other characters poured in after, clamoring and each demanding to be written. They haven't given me a moment's worth of peace ever since.

What an awesome idea to have birthdays for your works! I love it! I started writing a year ago, because I didn't want to die before at least trying to do something I've always dreamed of doing. I love, love, love to read and the thought of producing something that gives me such joy would be the best thing in the world. :)

I started writing PBs when I got laid off from my job as a kids content developer for a internet company (in 2001)

Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday! I thought I missed entering the drawing, but maybe I didn't. Here's hoping (fingers crossed).

I know I'm too late for the drawing but just wanted to say I know what you mean about revisions. My book has changed so much since its original draft. We really do grow as writers. :)

Interesting to see the evolutions our writing/novels/WIPs go through as we also grow and change.

Congrats & happy bday!
